Perla Bechara in EB8A wrote this incredible poem about her academic journey. Check it out below!
In the realm of knowledge
Once a weapon sharp
I wielded academia
A journey to embark
Battles with books
Conquering each page
A scholars sword
Wisdom as my wage
Yet shadows emerged
A fierce academic tide
Swiftly I turned from victor to guide
Storms of failure
A tempest unkind
Turned my triumphs to remain behind
Once a conqueror in the ivory tour
Now a victim weakened each hour
Lessons learned not from triumphs glow
But from the wounds and scars that I show
In the echo of grades and the weight of stress
I transformed from sword to an armless dress
A victim humbled by knowledge’s might
Seeking solace in the depths of the night
Oh, academic journey, a turbulent sea
From weapon to victim,
The transformation in me
Yet in this defeat
A resilient ember
A tale of struggle
A soul to remember
