Stories and outdoors, what a great combination!
Our cycle 1 students engaged in a StoryWalk, a creative and interactive activity that promotes literacy while enjoying the outdoors. The students moved around the playground, reading the book pages attached on poles and listening to others reading the story aloud. They identified the story elements, and searched for cards or objects that represent the characters, setting, problem, and solution. Then, they used their collected items to retell the stories to their partners.
