Blubber Glove

Students explored how animals adapt to different environments. In the “Blubber Glove” hands-on activity, they created a makeshift blubber layer with household materials and tested it by immersing their hands in ice water. This simulated how blubber helps insulate against the cold, like it does for Arctic animals. The activity highlighted the importance of insulation for warmth in chilly conditions.
