What’s more important than reading? Reflecting on the texts that we read. Some students in EB6 wrote some incredible reviews of some books that they recently read. Check out below the thoughts and critique of our brilliant readers:

Nancy Drew Diaries: Secret at Black Creek Farm

                  by Carolyne keene.

Have you been looking for a book that will leave you on the edge of your seat? Well you can stop looking because I have the perfect book for you.

From the moment Nancy and her friends arrive at Black Creek farm they are enveloped in an atmosphere of intrigue and suspicion. Keen skillfully builds suspense with each turn of the page, scattering clues that keep readers guessing until the very end.

I loved the book for many reasons but here are three:

  1. Intriguing mystery: The book presents a captivating mystery that keeps readers engaged from the start to the end. For example: The discovery of a hidden artifact sets Nancy and her friends on a quest to uncover its secrets, leading to unexpected  twists and turns that keep readers guessing.
  1. Dynamic characters: The characters in the story are relatable, making it easy for readers to become invested in their journey. Nancy Drew’s intelligence and resourcefulness shines as she tackles each clue with determination while her friends Bess and George provide valuable support along the way.
  1. Vivid setting: The descriptive language brings the setting of Black Creek to life, immersing readers in it’s rustic charm and mysterious atmosphere. From the beautiful fields to hidden path ways, every detail adds depth to the story without giving away the plot’s secrets.

For an exhilarating escape into the world of mystery, don’t hesitate to pick up Nancy Drew.

I give the book 4.5 stars. I definitely recommend!

My Review of a Book

Have you been searching for a horror book to read?

I recommend that you hop into your car and go to the nearest bookstore to get “Something Upstairs”!

“Something Upstairs” is a thrilling, historical, and horror book about a boy called Kenny that just moved into a new town and house.

The suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat. For example, at one point in the story, the boy faces someone he never thought he would.

The book has history in it too! Kenny goes into the past and learns many things that help him solve a quest he’s on.

The horror in the book will make your heart pound faster throughout the story. For example, Kenny meets a mysterious creature that actually becomes his friend.

One thing I noticed was that some of the parts in the story seem to drag on. So, I suggest that the author removes unnecessary details.

So go get “Something Upstairs” and start reading! You won’t be able to put it down!

My Rating: 4/5 stars

Dog Man Unleashed

Have you ever been bored of all of the books around the world?

I have the perfect one that will knock you out of your couch. I highly recommend buying it because it is rich in hilarious moments.

Dog Man Unleashed is not just another book. It’s a unique comedy series that follows the adventures of a dog-headed cop, a character you won’t find in any other book, as he battles a mischievous villain to save the city.

Get ready for a thrilling ride as the cop faces a villain who seemingly appears out of nowhere with a sinister goal of destruction. The suspense and mystery surrounding the cop’s response will keep you on the edge of your seat, eagerly turning the pages to uncover the truth.

This book is a perfect fit if you enjoy subjects like animals, comics, children, fiction, and comedy. Trust me when I say that this book is a laughter-inducing gem. It’s the kind of book that will make you laugh, smile, and think about it all day long, providing endless entertainment.

So, rush to the nearest library to grab ten copies for each close friend so you can unleash your funny humor like Dog Man Unleashed and jump in for a long ride.

My Book Review Of The Last Kids On Earth

Have you been looking for a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat? If you have but sadly can’t find one, I understand how much of a bother it is, that was before I found the collection of The Last Kids on Earth and saying that it will knock your socks off is an understatement with how amazing it is!

I really recommend that you read it but you’ll have to read the first two because this is the third one. The last kids on earth is an amazing series of books about the adventures that a boy called Jack Sullivan and his four friends are the last kids on earth because of a monster apocalypse!

The suspense will not let you put the book down! For example, we don’t find out who or what’s causing the problems in the story until close to the end. You should also read this book for the plot twists! As revealed, just when the characters thought things couldn’t get worse the danger gets stronger! And finally, the third reason why you should read this book is because it doesn’t drag on it’s always very interesting, examples include the characters facing multiple difficulties trying to survive.

I did notice that although it’s a kid’s book, some of the parts are sad and slow the loneliness that the apocalypse gave these children so maybe it shouldn’t be for all ages but rather 8+ but other than that it’s amazing.

In conclusion The Last Kids On Earth is a very captivating and thought provoking book so quickly get yourself a copy of this amazing book because once you’ve picked it up you will not be able to put it down! I rate it 5 stars
